A few weeks ago I hung out with Dave at his Manhattan apartment and helped him photograph some of his fine art photography. He creates collages of several photographs to make an entirely new pattern. To describe his work he has coined the phrase, “Photo Plexus.”
His work draws you in. At first you notice a pattern, then when you look closer you can distinguish the individual shapes that make up the whole, and when you look even closer you can start to figure out what exactly the original photograph is. Each piece needs to be viewed at several different distances. Every time you get closer or farther away, you see and appreciate something new.
